The drifting waters of the East and the West Branch of the Delaware River meet in the in heart of the village of Hancock in Delaware County. The community was settled shortly before the American Revolution and was founded on the strength of lumbering and rafting along the river. In the mid-19th century, French and German settlers also joined the early transplanted New Englanders who helped to create the town. Funding provided by a grant from Empire State Development. 2018 Summer Nights LIVE! on The Square Preview
Summer Nights LIVE! is a series of six performances that take place from June through August at the Hancock Town Square in Hancock NY. The 2018 season will feature Brazilian tap dancer Leo Sandoval, Native American Grammy Award winner Joanne Shenandoah, Chinese traditional dance by Dance China, Afro-Brazilian dance and drums with Dende Macedo and Ologunde, Americana and Roots Rock musician The Suitcase Junket, and Celtic Rock group Cleghorn.
